Conveyancing Assistant - Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Hailsham
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
A respected and well-established law firm based in Hailsham is seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to support their busy residential property team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior experience in conveyancing or a a candidate with a legal or business degree who is eager to develop their career in a client-focused legal setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting fee earners with all aspects of residential conveyancing matters
- Drafting and preparing legal documents including contracts, transfers, and completion statements
- Conducting and reviewing property searches and Land Registry documentation
- Opening and closing client files, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, both written and via phone or email
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and solicitors to progress transactions smoothly
- Maintaining accurate case records, updating internal systems, and ensuring key deadlines are met
- Responding to client queries in a professional, helpful, and timely manner
- Providing general administrative support to the wider team as needed
What You'll Bring:
- Experience working in a legal office, ideally within a property or conveyancing team
- OR a relevant degree in Law, Business, or a related field with a strong interest in conveyancing
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Clear and confident communication skills - written and verbal
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- A proactive, reliable, and collaborative approach to work
